Paleo Diet Review

Being one of the healthiest and most effective diets around, the Paleo diet has just established its popularity in the fitness industry.

The Paleo diet, which was founded by nutritionist Loren Cordain, promotes eating whole, real foods and combating processed foods. Processed foods are those foods with refined sugars, trans fats, artificial colors and flavors. They have been associated with a lot of chronic diseases including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, infertility, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and depression.

Generally, the Paleo diet aims to avoid anything that is processed like dairy, gains, legumes, alcohol, starches, and those with refined sugars. It may seem hard to avoid these foods, but keep in mind that they only stop you from achieving your fitness goals.

Typical Paleo foods, which dieters often describe as “foods which would have been available to a caveman,” include fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, eggs, lean meats, seafoods, and those with healthy fats. It may be a short list, but you have a wide variety of dishes to try using just these foods. You just have to get creative with it!

Now, what makes the Paleo diet good for you?

The Paleo diet controls your blood lipids, which means you have a reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases, heart attack and stroke. It also regulates your blood sugar, so it is granted diabetic-friendly!

If you are trying to lose your weight or keep your shape, the Paleo diet is one of the easiest ways to get you there. It promotes healthy cells by providing the perfect balance of saturated and unsaturated fats in your body, as well as curbing cravings and hunger, and speeding up your metabolism. It comes with a healthy protein so it is best for an efficient workout in the gym, boosting your energy to gain more muscles and less fat.

The Paleo diet is also known as an anti-inflammatory diet because you basically eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables, avoiding processed and crappy foods that only do harm in your body. It promotes healthier skin by removing all signs of aging, and better teeth by naturally whitening them. Moreover, the Paleo diet improves your sleep, aid in digestion and protects you from allergies.

But of course, the Paleo diet has also its disadvantages.

The first on the list is that you cannot enjoy a lot of foods that you used to enjoy and treat yourself with. Also, some processed foods, grains and starchy vegetables are not unhealthy as you think they are. For instance, cottage cheese is often used by a lot of fitness enthusiasts, and you cannot consume it on a Paleo diet.

The Paleo diet is undoubtedly good for you as it offers a lot of health benefits. However, it is important to note that humans have different body structures, so it is possible that the Paleo diet may work for one, but not for the other.

It’s still worth trying – give the Paleo diet a shot and see for yourself!
