Science in Sport Beta Fuel has been developed to deliver the maximum amount of carbohydrate in a 2:1 ratio of Maltodextrin to Fructose whilst limiting gastrointestinal distress.

The product mixed to concentration is 80 grams carbohydrate (2:1 maltodextrin: fructose), 20 mmol/L sodium and 500 ml of fluid per serving.

Recommended Usage:

Mix one serving (82g) of Beta Fuel with 500 ml of fluid and drink little & often during exercise to meet fueling requirements.

Benefits:

A rate-limiting factor of exogenous carbohydrate utilization during exercise is the transportation of the nutrients across the intestinal wall. Once the sodium-dependent transporter, used to transport maltodextrin, is saturated at 60 g.h additional carbohydrate can be absorbed through another transporter, GLUT5, used to transport fructose.

Fuelling requirements for long endurance events (greater than 2.5 hours) are 60-90 g of carbohydrate per hour. The ability to deliver such high levels of carbohydrate with minimized risk of GI issues is crucial to performance. Beta Fuel can be used to meet these fuelling demands in an isotonic solution.

Tasty good carbs!

I love this product! I mixed 2 1/2 sachets (200g) carbs into my 500ml bottle for a viscous dense carb mix. Sipping away with water in my hydration system too and throw in a couple of betafuel gels (2 x 40g), and I've got the bike leg of my half ironman race nutrition sorted 👊 112g carbs/hr on the bike! Won my race!

Very good with one small problem.

A lot of energy in easy to absorb form. I've tried, gels, bars, chews and all were difficult to deal with and/or gave me stomach problems.
This stuff has carbs galore and is easy to digest. No stomach problems. Hydration and fuel in one hit.
I add electrolytes because it doesn't contain any.
Main issue - doesn't mix well with cold water. Prepare well in advance using warm water and then cool in fridge or freezer depending on how long you have before you exercise.

This wasn’t my choice it was orange but had sold out so I got the Strawberry and lime it’s not to bad way better than I thought it was going to like

Rocket fuel

I used three packets of this over a 4hr ride for the first time on the weekend - never used it before, having typically used the go electrolyte mix topped up with some bars and a get ever hour. In using the BETA it very quickly dawned on me that perhaps I have NEVER fueled properly on the bike.!!! I had perhaps the BEST day I've ever had. Plenty of power over my 110k ride and felt like I could have ridden more, basically having one bottle an hour. Added an electrolyte tab per bottle.
